[ltr]Dori asked for more... But this is going to be the last one for EUC 2011 because:
1) Team Israel just finished their last game.
2) I'm flying tonight to Wroclaw Poland for EYUC 2011!!!
Our Boys in Blue (or white, the game summary doesn't say colors) beat Austria in slightly less dramatic fashion than last time... But this time it was the 13-14 game, which means Team Israel finishes 13th in the Open Division. Way to Go!!
http://scores.wucc2010.com/?view=gameplay&Game=2110Koren pulled in 6 points on day one, and only three goals. On day two, he scored 14 goals. Overall he averaged 4.6 goals per game. (4.6 per game over 10 games gives a total of 46. Yea Math!!) 2nd place in the open division right now is a Latvian with 26.
Michael also established himself on day two, and also had a big day yesterday. His lead in the assist category is only 14, come on Mike, Koren's lead is 20...
In the overall scoring (assists + goals) only 6 points separate Michael and Koren, and 13 separate them from our Latvian friend. Some of those numbers may change a little because a number of teams haven't finished all their games, but unless something very dramatic happens, Koren and Michael should keep their titles. Way to go!!
http://scores.wucc2010.com/?view=scores ... eries=1011I wonder about team balance. Did Team Israel play well and that led to a lot of scoring? Did Team Israel run their offense through two or three players, especially near the goal line? Was Michael hucking to Koren all day? Was the drop off in ability between the top players and the role players on Team Israel so great that nobody else could score? Did Michael intercept the score sheet and pad his stats? I don't know, but I would like to!
I'm done here. Maybe once all the finals are done we'll see about a tournament recap. But by that time I should be fully immersed in EYUC.
http://eyuc.frisbee.tifl.pl/We are bringing three teams, Boys U20, Boys U17 and Girls U20. It should be awesome. So awesome in fact, that the organizers put our Boys U20 team in the opening night showcase game against host Poland. I'm already excited for that, and it's not for three whole days!
Maybe in Poland I'll get some of the players to post in Hebrew. What do you think?
Again, congratulations to Team Israel for a great showing. The future looks bright!
Go Teams Israel!!!
